Election Candidates
Candidates for the following offices may file their Notice of Candidacy no earlier than noon on the second Monday in February and no later than noon on the last business day in February preceding the primary:
| Governor | Justices of the Supreme Court |
| Lieutenant Governor | Judges of the Court of Appeals |
| All State Executive Officers | Judges of the Superior & District Courts |
| US Senators | NC Senators |
| US Representatives | NC House of Representatives |
| District Attorneys | All County offices (excluding Soil & Water) |
ONLY candidates for NC Senate, NC House of Representatives and county offices file a Notice of Candidacy with the Wilkes County Board of Elections.
Candidates for Soil & Water may file their Notice of Candidacy begin at noon the second Monday in June and ending at noon on the first Friday in July preceding the election.
Non-Partisan Municipal candidates may file their Notice of Candidacy with the Wilkes County Board of Elections no earlier than noon on the first Friday in July and no later than noon on the first Friday of August preceding the election.
