Bid Invitation

The County of Wilkes is inviting bids for the following County properties – old Jail Building located behind the Heritage Museum in Wilkesboro, CJPP Building on Main Street in Wilkesboro, and the old Female Detention Center located on Boston Avenue in North Wilkesboro.  If interested in bidding on these properties, please contact County Attorney Tony Triplett’s at 667-7201.

Update to Wilkes JCPC RFP – Managers for programs wishing to apply to the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council RFP are strongly encouraged to attend an information session on March 3, 2016 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Wilkesboro NC Works Career Center at 103 Call St, Wilkesboro NC. The meeting originally scheduled for February 15th was rescheduled due to inclement weather. Those unable to attend should contact the Department of Public Safety Area Consultant at 704-603-6833 for application details.

RECRUITMENT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ATTORNEY II POSITION

Applications for an Attorney II position for the Wilkes County Department of Social Services are being accepted from June 21, 2016 – July 8, 2016.  The Attorney II will provide legal support within the agency relating to child welfare, adult services, child support, income maintenance and any other legal matters.
Applicant must submit a State Application Form PD-107 and resume along with an official sealed transcript from accredited institutions as well as a copy of license to practice law in NC.  The position is subject to pre-employment drug testing and a criminal background check.  All interested applicants should submit an application by 5:00 PM on Friday, July 8, 2016 to:
