Wilkes Transportation Authority Looking to Hire Executive Director
The Wilkes Transportation Authority is accepting applications for the Executive Director position. This position supervises the general operation of the WTA. The duties would include preparation of the annual operating budget, grant applications, capital budgeting for vehicle replacement, and management of the staff and their responsibilities.
The WTA has 24 vehicles for transporting clients to medical facilities, nursing homes, VA hospitals, individual calls for service, and Medicaid service facilities both in and out of Wilkes County. The staff is comprised of 5 full-time administrative employees, 22 full-time drivers, and 8 part-time drivers. The annual budget is $1.7 million.
Desired qualifications include experience in personnel management, fleet management in the transportation service field, budgeting, granting writing, communication skills, and complaint resolution skills. The salary will be offered commensurate with a combination of education, experience, and training. Currently at $60,000.
