COVID-19 Dashboard

Wilkes County, thank you for supporting our department during this challenging time. Over the course of the past two years it has been a top priority to bring you current and reliable data about the rapidly evolving COVID-19 pandemic. While, we are not out of pandemic yet, Wilkes Health understands that it is becoming more complicated to provide an accurate depiction of current cases in Wilkes. Due to this Wilkes Health will no longer be publishing daily COVID-19 case counts. This decision comes at a time when many are using at home COVID-19 test, which are not required to be reported to local public health, and when many are choosing not to get tested for COVID-19 at all. While these daily numbers are helpful to some, Wilkes Health believes this is no longer an accurate real time picture of prevalence in the community. Therefore, we will provide links to the NC DHHS COVID-19 Dashboard and the CDC COVID Tracker.

Both of these websites provide demographic, trend, vaccination, and other data. Please be mindful that these sites will differ and use different timelines. For instance NC DHHS uses a 14 day window and the CDC looks back 7 days. The data that is presented on these websites will differ, while neither is wrong, they both use different data and timelines.
