Notice of Candidacy
Any individual who wishes to file for a municipal or county office will do so at the Wilkes County Board of Elections office during the specified dates and times. Those who wish to declare their candidacy for North Carolina House or Senate will do so in their county of residence.

Organizing a Committee
Each candidate who has received funds or made payments or given consent for anyone else to receive funds or transfer anything of value for the purpose of bringing about that candidate’s nomination or election for office is required to organize a political committee. N.C.G.S. § 163-278.7(a).
Filing a notice of candidacy with a board of elections also triggers the candidate’s obligation to organize a political committee.

During the filing period of 12/1/2025 (Noon) through 12/19/2025 (Noon) - We will be providing a list of candidates who have filed to run in Federal, State and Local Elections in relevance to Wilkes County.
This list will be updated by 5 pm on business days.
